JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is one of the leading agro-processing companies in Ghana and Africa.
Scope
The Logistics Officer will primarily be responsible for coordinating cargo clearing processes, monitoring vessel and port activities, and ensuring compliance with shipping and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and monitor vessels' arrival and cargo status.
- Liaise with customs license agencies to ensure smooth clearing of shipment as per SLA.
- Check, verify and approve all shipping documents in accordance with standards.
- Develop strategies to control demurrage, detention and all avoidable costs in clearing.
- Collaborate with other departments for operational efficiency.
- Maintain complete records of all clearing documentation and transactions.
- Develop and implement plans to ensure the timely discharge of cargo upon gate out.
- Assist with production coordination where necessary.
- Maintain strong relationships with high-profile stakeholders in the shipping industry.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor
Requirements
Requirements
- A Diploma or HND in Logistics and supply chain, purchasing, business management, and shipping administration.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of ICUMS duty classification and processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and ERP applications.
