ReadNorth delivers structured literacy instruction in Hausa and English to primary school pupils in Kano and Kaduna States, using a proven phonics-based curriculum adapted for the local cultural context. We train teachers in 3-day intensive workshops and supply levelled reading books printed locally. In 2024 we reached 14,200 pupils across 89 schools. Assessed reading scores improved by an average of 2.3 grade levels within one school year. This raise expands us to 200 schools and Sokoto State.
