Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Heavy Duty

A reputable company located in Tema, Greater Accra, is seeking a skilled, experienced and results-oriented Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join its technical team.

 POSITION: HEAVY-DUTY MECHANIC

Location: Tema, Ghana

🔹 QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

✅ HND, Diploma, NVTI Certificate, City & Guilds or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance or a related field.

✅ Minimum of 3–5 years of practical experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.

✅ Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, braking systems and electrical components.

✅ Proven experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty trucks, trailers, earthmoving equipment or industrial machinery.

✅ Ability to carry out preventive maintenance, routine servicing and major mechanical repairs.

✅ Ability to interpret technical manuals and use mechanical diagnostic tools.

✅ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

✅ Ability to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision.

✅ Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.

🔹 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

🔧 Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical faults in heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.

🔧 Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance.

🔧 Troubleshoot engine, transmission, hydraulic and braking system faults.

🔧 Identify and replace worn or defective mechanical components.

🔧 Ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.

🔧 Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

🔧 Minimise equipment downtime through timely repairs.
