Role Description This is a freelance remote role for a German-English Translator and Interpreter. The role involves translating written documents from German to English and English to German, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in terminology and style. The translator and interpreter will provide real-time interpretation for virtual meetings, calls, and conferences, and may support localization of marketing, technical, and training materials for different audiences. Daily tasks include reviewing and revising translated content, collaborating with project managers and clients to clarify requirements, and maintaining glossaries and language resources. The role also includes meeting deadlines, handling multiple projects, and following established quality assurance processes.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in German and English, with excellent reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in both languages.
• Demonstrated experience in translation and interpretation, preferably in business, technical, academic, or legal contexts.
• Ability to ensure accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and consistent terminology, with attention to detail and quality.
• Familiarity with translation tools, glossaries, and basic localization practices; comfort working with digital documents and remote collaboration platforms.
• Strong time management, organization, and ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines in a remote setting.
• Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
• Relevant academic background in languages, translation, linguistics, or related field is preferred; professional certifications in translation or interpretation are an advantage.
• Prior experience working with international clients or multilingual teams is beneficial.
