THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client, a growing and reputable company in the Mining Support Services sector, is seeking a highly capable and commercially minded Finance Manager to join its management team in Obuasi.
This senior role combines financial management, management reporting, budgeting, financial controls, commercial analysis and finance systems . The successful candidate will bridge Finance, Cost Accounting, Production, Operations and Group Finance, ensuring maximum value from our financial systems while maintaining strong financial discipline.
THE PROFILE WE ARE SEEKING
A Finance Manager who combines strong commercial awareness and accounting judgement with hands-on ERP capability.
Key Responsibilities
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Lead day-to-day financial management and accounting activities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow and variance analysis.
• Monitor revenue, expenditure, margins, working capital and performance.
• Support month-end, year-end and audit processes.
  

ERP

• Support and optimise GL, AP, AR, cash management, fixed assets, budgeting and reporting.
• Work with IT/ERP consultants to resolve finance system issues and improve processes.
• Maintain financial master data, dimensions, posting groups and system integrity.
  

CONTROLS, COMPLIANCE & RISK

• Strengthen financial controls and segregation of duties.
• Monitor compliance with accounting standards, policies and statutory requirements.
• Identify process weaknesses, financial risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Support tax compliance and internal/external audits.
  

COMMERCIAL & OPERATIONAL FINANCE

• Partner with Production and Operations on cost and performance management.
• Analyse project, contract and operational costs and identify savings opportunities.
• Provide financial insight for resource allocation and management decisions.
  

LEADERSHIP & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

• Lead, coach and develop finance team members.
• Work collaboratively with Production, Procurement, Operations, HR and IT.
• Maintain strong alignment with Group Finance and senior management.
  

WHO SHOULD APPLY?
We are looking for a finance professional who is more than a traditional accountant — someone who understands both the numbers and the systems that generate those numbers, and who can translate financial and operational data into practical business decisions.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BA) in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum five (5) years’ relevant professional experience, including significant Finance Manager-level or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central , SAP, Sage etc.
• Strong practical knowledge of financial accounting, management accounting, budgeting, reporting and internal controls.
• An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
• Part qualification or professional qualification in ACCA, ICA, CIMA or equivalent will be an advantage.
  

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Confident operating at Finance Manager level with strong commercial awareness.
• Able to understand, improve and document finance processes within an ERP environment.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or other related ERPs
• Able to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance managers.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• High integrity, confidentiality, professionalism and attention to detail.
• Experience in mining, mining services, engineering, construction, industrial services or other asset-intensive environments is highly advantageous.
