Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Help solve some of the biggest challenges facing the energy sector and communities across the country as a key member on multi-disciplinary teams focused on applied climate adaptation and resilience projects for the public and private sector
- Shine your technical expertise, research, and innovation to execute work related to energy infrastructure resilience to climate change and extreme weather risks
- Show your voice and outstanding communication skills in preparing presentations, reports, memoranda, and other compelling work products
- Work alongside intelligent, creative, and passionate colleagues in a fast-paced and self-motivated environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, policy, environmental science, or other field with training and/or experience relevant to climate change and energy or other critical infrastructure systems
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Enthusiasm for learning quickly and creatively applying critical thinking to new problem areas
- Demonstrated ability to analyze technical information, particularly related to energy and other infrastructure, and synthesize findings for decision making
- Familiarity with climate change adaptation and resilience concepts
- A record of excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good organization skills, detail orientation, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Our Preferred Skills/Experience
- Master’s degree in civil or electrical engineering, or other field with training and/or experience relevant to energy systems or critical infrastructure systems
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated experience working with energy utilities on issues related to risk management, asset management, strategic and long-range planning, project finance, or regulatory issues
- Experience working with generation, transmission, and distribution aspects of the energy system, including familiarity with technical aspects of a wide range of energy asset types
- Technical and team management experience for complex projects in a consulting environment
- ICF prefers this position to be located in ICF’s Crystal City office in Arlington, VA, under a hybrid work arrangement (i.e., minimum 2 days in the office; the other days may be remote or in the office). However, ICF will consider alternative ICF office locations or fully remote positions if requested by the candidate.
