Job Summary

The Compliance Officer will provide support for the neo-bank division of NinjaHoldings by researching, interpreting and assisting with adherence to the assigned laws and regulations for banking and deposits. As subject matter expert for relevant laws and regulations, the Compliance Officer will provide consultative advice across all lines of business related to compliance. The Compliance Officer is responsible for internal controls to mitigate compliance risk in assigned areas of responsibility and ensuring adherence with applicable regulations. This role is also responsible for training program staff on specific internal processes and control responsibilities.

Job Description/Requirements

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as the corporate subject matter expert across the deposit banking program
  • Provide oversight and monitoring of line of business processes and controls
  • Proactively identify process improvements or control gaps and facilitate necessary associated changes
  • Keep abreast of applicable laws and regulations (Provide guidance on depository banking regulatory requirements, e.g., Reg E, Reg CC, , Reg DD, and NACHA rules,, marketing reviews, and incentive compensation practices
  • Assist with deposit-related compliance exam items
  • Assist with corporate policy and training development
  • Educate and provide consultative advice on relevant regulations
  • Participate in or lead various projects related to mitigating compliance risk and establishing controls

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; substantial banking industry experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree; JD or CRCM preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience as a financial services compliance professional, bank regulator or other comparable legal experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the banking industry, particularly deposit product offerings, the systems supporting them, and related environments
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret federal and state laws that apply to the designated business segment and other areas
  • Strong relationship management and leadership skills
  • Candidate must possess the flexibility to undertake new responsibilities as the Compliance function and neo-bank program evolve and grow
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Sound decision-making skills; able to make decisions independently and quickly
  • Strong research skills coupled with strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
