Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Chef / Cook role based in Tamale. The Chef / Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of healthy, well-seasoned dishes according to company recipes and portion standards. Daily tasks include prepping ingredients, operating kitchen equipment safely, organizing workstations, and maintaining a clean, hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety guidelines. The role also involves monitoring food quality and presentation, managing stock for ingredients, and minimizing waste. The Chef / Cook will collaborate with the kitchen team and supervisors to ensure timely service, consistent taste, and adherence to Sweet Aroma Foods’ quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating for consistent quality and presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and safe handling of kitchen equipment and tools.
- Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and production schedules accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks during busy service periods.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen and service staff respectfully and efficiently.
- Previous experience as a cook, line cook, or chef in a restaurant, catering, or food production setting is preferred.
- Formal culinary training or relevant certificates in food production or hospitality are an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak periods, as required by the operation.
- Minimum of secondary / vocational school education; additional training in sales, marketing, or business is a plus.
