Role Description The Chartered Accountant will work on-site in Kasoa in a full-time capacity, providing comprehensive accounting and financial advisory services. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing general ledgers, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements. The role involves budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support client decision-making and improve financial performance. The Chartered Accountant will also assist with audits, maintain accurate financial records, and advise clients on risk management, cost control, and financial best practices. Collaboration with internal HR consultants and client stakeholders is expected to ensure financial insights are integrated into broader business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review accurate financial statements, management accounts, and financial reports.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and financial projections.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure proper maintenance of accounting records.
- Monitor the organisation’s financial performance and provide management with relevant financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and file statutory tax returns and liaise with relevant regulatory authorities where necessary.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and provide required financial documentation.
- Develop and maintain effective financial controls to minimize financial risks and errors.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for improving financial efficiency.
- Ensure timely payment of statutory obligations and other financial commitments.
- Support management in financial planning, investment decisions, and business strategy.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all financial information.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications chartered accountant (ICA or ACCA)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Good understanding of taxation and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage confidential information.
- Experience in supervising or managing an accounting team will be an advantage.
