Role Description The Assistant Human Resources Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Accra. This role supports the HR Manager in overseeing day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and training coordination. The Assistant HR Manager helps ensure compliance with company policies and local labor regulations, maintains accurate HR records, and assists in developing and implementing HR programs that enhance employee engagement. Daily responsibilities include supporting payroll and benefits administration, handling employee inquiries, coordinating staff schedules, and contributing to a positive, inclusive workplace culture. The role also involves collaborating with department heads to address staffing needs and support continuous improvement in HR processes.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of core HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Experience with HR administration, including HRIS usage, personnel records management, and basic payroll and benefits support.
- Skills in training coordination, staff development support, and facilitating workshops or orientations.
- Ability to interpret and apply labor laws, hotel policies, and compliance requirements in a practical HR context.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proven organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and foster an inclusive, respectful work environment.
- Master's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Previous HR experience in hospitality or service-oriented industries is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with common office software (e.g., MS Office) and familiarity with HR systems and tools (Bayan, Prosoft etc).
