Application Development Lead At Vodafone Ghana

Purpose Of Role

• Identify business and technical needs to provide the necessary tactical/ strategic steps to evolve the business solutions
• Build, configure, debug and lead in support BSS applications.
• Identify and fix issues in technology and process
• Define policies and standards for solution technologies and reflective of a wide spectrum of maturity in the different OpCos
• Performance tuning and monitoring of BSS applications with excellent troubleshooting skills
• Responsible for monitoring, bug fix and resolving production support incidents
• Provide the required IT & functional capabilities in collaboration with the business/technical teams
• Identify and evaluate new trends within IT business solutions
• Perform product feasibility assessments.
• Drive implementation of solution lifecycle management and apply VF’s IT framework methodologies
• Support of Vodafone project teams in defining and enhancing Vodafone’s advanced solutions with integration needs
• Maintain expertise as SME in BSS architecture design and strategy, and define architectural standards and best practices
• Advise and share experience on complex issues by providing technical guidance to project team members (consultancy).
• Support of Vodafone project teams in defining and enhancing Vodafone’s advanced solutions
• Ensure project delivery processes are fully adhered to.
• Define technical requirement specifications
• Definition of Technical Options, High Level Design and implementation strategy.
  

Qualification Required & Experience
Person Specification:

• Strong technological background, with qualification in Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent
• Thorough understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Middleware concepts of integration applications in an Enterprise setting
• Fluent in Web Service standards and supporting technologies (Enterprise Service Bus, SOAP, XSD, WSDL, XML, etc.)
• Experience in deploying Service Oriented Architecture as needed to support business needs.
• Multiple OS and DB platform experience
• Perform administrative tasks including but not limited to configuring SMTP, LDAP integration, and data source configuration
• Experience in delivering application solutions based on agreed user requirements
• Substantial working experience in a business and technology focused IT environment
• Knowledge of business strategies in the Telecommunications industry, trends within the sector and of business implementations of solutions roadmaps
• Experience working with middleware tools for modelling business process
• Have good architecture methodology/ interpersonal/communication/presentation skills
• Expertise in planning and coordination

Experience working for a Network Operator within Mobile Industry is preferred
