Application Developer

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain mobile apps for Android and iOS using [Flutter / Kotlin / Swift]

Turn Figma designs into pixel-accurate, responsive and accessible screens

Integrate apps with REST APIs and backend services such as Firebase (authentication, databases, push notifications)

Manage app state and data flow using clean, maintainable architecture

Handle local storage, offline behaviour, loading and error states

Write clean, reusable, well-documented code and take part in code reviews

Write unit and UI tests, and fix bugs reported through QA and user feedback

Monitor app performance, crashes and analytics, and make improvements

Prepare builds and support releases to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store

Work with designers, backend engineers and product managers in agile sprints

Requirements

1–3 years of hands-on experience building mobile apps

Proficiency in at least one mobile stack: Flutter (Dart), React Native (JavaScript/TypeScript), Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift)

At least one app published on the Play Store or App Store, or a public GitHub portfolio of mobile projects

Solid understanding of mobile UI, navigation and the app lifecycle

Experience with state management and app architecture patterns (e.g. MVVM, BLoC, Redux)

Experience consuming REST APIs and working with JSON

Working knowledge of Firebase or a similar backend service

Comfortable with Git and collaborative workflows (branches, pull requests)

Ability to translate UI/UX designs into polished interfaces

Good problem-solving skills and clear written and spoken English

Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Additional for an advantage

Experience with more than one mobile stack (e.g. Flutter plus native Kotlin or Swift)

Experience with push notifications, maps, camera or payment integrations (e.g. mobile money)

Familiarity with CI/CD for mobile (Codemagic, GitHub Actions or Fastlane)

UI/UX design skills in Figma

Experience with clean architecture and automated testing • Knowledge of app security and data privacy best practices
