As an accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. Your responsibilities will include preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and collaborating with other departments to maintain fiscal integrity.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and accounting systems.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Generate reports for management to aid in decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis.
Payroll Processing:
- Oversee payroll processing, including calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes. Ensure accurate and timely payment of wages to employees in compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with filing and payment of VAT and other tax levies
- Prepare payroll and file PAYE returns and SSNIT in a timely manner.
Audit Support:
- Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.
- Provide necessary documentation and explanations for audit inquiries.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Make recommendations for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts, and other financial discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Compliance and Controls:
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Communication:
- Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is a plus.
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting.
- Minimum of 4yrs of experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software, QuickBooks, financial management tools, Microsoft Excel etc.
- Analytical and detail-oriented.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
