About Pencils of Promise

Pencils of Promise (PoP) is a global nonprofit organization founded in 2008 by Adam Braun, dedicated to providing quality education to underserved communities. Since initiating operations in Ghana in 2012, PoP has constructed over 205 classroom blocks across the Volta, Eastern, and Oti regions, significantly enhancing educational infrastructure. Beyond building schools, PoP invests in teacher training, literacy programs, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives, impacting over 70,000 learners and training approximately 2,000 teachers in Ghana alone. Their holistic approach ensures that students not only have access to safe learning environments but also benefit from improved teaching quality and health standards.

We believe every child should have access to quality education. We create schools, programs and global communities around the common goal of education for all. 100% of online donations go to PoP programs.

We don’t just build a school and move on; we monitor and evaluate every project we undertake. We have a proactive process to ensure every school we open is educating students

Company benefits

PoP places a strong emphasis on professional development. Employees benefit from continuous learning opportunities, including in-service training and coaching, particularly for teachers. This commitment to staff development ensures that educators are well-equipped to deliver quality education and adapt to innovative teaching methodologies.
