Role Description The Volunteer Facilitator will support on-site program delivery in Ablekuma by guiding training sessions, workshops, and group discussions focused on entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. This volunteer role involves preparing learning materials, coordinating activities, and engaging participants in interactive learning that builds practical business and leadership skills. The Facilitator will help create a safe, inclusive space, encourage participation, and provide feedback to learners to support their growth and confidence. Day-to-day responsibilities also include collaborating with staff and other volunteers, collecting basic monitoring and evaluation data, and sharing observations that can improve program quality. The role is on-site in Ablekuma and is ideal for individuals who wish to contribute their time and expertise to community-focused, gender-inclusive initiatives.
Qualifications

  • Ability to facilitate group discussions, workshops, and training sessions, with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to engage diverse participants respectfully.
  • Basic understanding of entrepreneurship, small business development, or economic empowerment programs, with interest in gender equality and social impact.
  • Organizational and time management skills to plan sessions, manage group activities, and maintain accurate records of participation and feedback.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to respond to participant needs, adjust facilitation approaches, and support a positive learning environment.
  • Prior experience in education, community work, mentoring, or training is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders and to respect local culture and context in Ablekuma.
  • Commitment to non-discriminatory, gender-sensitive practices and a genuine interest in empowering women and marginalized groups.
