Strategic Management Professional (smp) Instructor

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and credentialed Strategic Management Professional (SMP) Instructor to lead our training programs for candidates pursuing the Strategic Management Professional certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing advanced curriculum, guiding candidates through the application process, and ensuring comprehensive exam readiness.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advanced Strategy Curriculum Development:

• Develop and deliver rigorous courses on core strategic management topics, including environmental scanning, strategy formulation, balanced scorecards, strategy execution, and portfolio management.
• Ensure all content is meticulously aligned with the official SMP Body of Knowledge and prepares learners for the 160-question multiple-choice certification exam.

2. Certification Application Coaching:

• Provide expert guidance to candidates on preparing their qualifying application for the SMP certification.
• Assist candidates in crafting compelling professional case studies, gathering appropriate professional references, and providing constructive feedback on required ethics statements and career biographies.

3. Exam Readiness Instruction:

• Develop and administer high-fidelity mock exams and practice questions.
• Instruct learners on effective test-taking strategies and time management techniques necessary for success on a large-scale, multiple-choice certification exam.

4. Consulting and Executive Guidance:

• Leverage significant personal experience in strategic planning and consulting to offer practical insights.
• Provide guidance on successfully leading multiple concurrent strategy assignments and effectively engaging with C-level and executive stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Certification/Experience:

• Active Strategic Management Professional (SMP) certification OR documented professional experience deemed equivalent to the SMP certification requirements.

Professional Experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading organizational strategic planning initiatives or complex consulting engagements.
• Demonstrated familiarity with the official Strategic Planning Professional (SPP) / Strategic Management Professional (SMP) Body of Knowledge.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.

Training Ability: Prior experience delivering executive-level strategy workshops, professional training, or academic courses in strategic management.
