Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Recruitment Specialist to source and recruit skilled and technical personnel for infrastructure and construction projects in Ghana.
The successful candidate will manage recruitment assignments from sourcing through onboarding, with a focus on construction and infrastructure roles. Candidates with strong industry networks, established recruitment resources, and experience recruiting for construction companies, contractors, engineering firms, or infrastructure projects are highly preferred.
Key Recruitment Areas
The role will focus on infrastructure-related positions, including:
- Carpenters / Formwork Carpenters
- Steel Fixers / Rebar Workers
- Masons / Bricklayers
- Crane Operators / Crane Drivers
- Excavator, Loader, and Heavy Equipment Operators
- Surveyors
- Civil Engineers / Site Engineers
- Construction Supervisors
- Safety Officers / HSE personnel
- Other skilled and technical construction workers
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment Delivery
- Manage assigned recruitment requests for infrastructure and construction positions.
- Develop and carry out sourcing plans to attract qualified candidates.
- Source candidates through professional networks, construction companies, contractors, technical institutions, social media, referrals, and recruitment agencies.
- Build and maintain a candidate database of skilled workers, technicians, engineers, and construction professionals.
2. Industry Talent Sourcing
- Build and maintain professional contacts with construction companies, contractors, engineering firms, technical schools, professional associations, and other industry sources.
- Develop talent pools for recurring and hard-to-fill infrastructure positions.
- Use relevant professional and community networks to identify suitable candidates.
3. Candidate Screening and Assessment
- Review applications and CVs, conduct phone interviews, and complete initial assessments.
- Assess candidates’ technical experience, qualifications, salary expectations, and availability.
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and keep candidates informed throughout the recruitment process.
- Support successful candidates through offer acceptance and onboarding.
4. Recruitment Channel Development
- Identify and develop new recruitment channels to strengthen candidate pipelines.
- Explore local recruitment resources in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast, the Eastern Region, and other major construction labor markets.
- Build sourcing relationships with community and labor agents, schools, employee referral networks, and online platforms.
5. Recruitment Data and Reporting
- Track candidates sourced, interviews, offers, hires, and onboarding progress for assigned vacancies.
- Prepare regular updates on recruitment progress, challenges, and support needs.
- Review sourcing results and recommend improvements to recruitment approaches.
6. Recruitment Team Coordination
- Coordinate with hiring managers, recruitment colleagues, and other HR team members to meet hiring needs.
- Share relevant candidate and labor-market information with the recruitment team.
- Contribute to consistent recruitment standards and processes for infrastructure positions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Science or any related program.
- Previous recruitment or HR experience, preferably in construction, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing, mining, or a related industry.
- Proven experience recruiting skilled workers, technicians, engineers, or construction professionals.
- Experience working in or recruiting for construction or infrastructure companies is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Ghana’s construction and infrastructure labor market.
- Excellent candidate-sourcing, communication, and interviewing skills.
- Strong organization and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet recruitment targets.
- Good English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following resources or experience will be given priority:
- Existing talent networks within Ghana’s construction industry.
- Strong relationships with construction companies, contractors, or engineering firms.
- Access to skilled-worker communities or professional networks.
- Experience recruiting crane operators, heavy-equipment operators, surveyors, engineers, or other technical construction personnel will be an added advantage.
- Experience working with labor agencies, community recruitment networks, or technical schools.
- An existing candidate database or proven recruitment channels.
