Role Description

The Production Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Cutting and Edging department, ensuring that all Precision Panel Saw machinery and edge-banding equipment are operated safely and efficiently. You will lead a large workforce, managing workflow from raw material to finished components, while maintaining strict quality standards and meeting production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in a wood-processing or furniture manufacturing environment.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of cutting and edging machines (e.g., Homag, Biesse, SCM) and edge-banding technology.
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage a medium-sized team in a fast-paced industrial setting.
• Software Literacy: Familiarity with optimization/nesting software and basic ERP systems.
• Problem Solving: Ability to read technical drawings and resolve production bottlenecks on the fly.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Management: Coordinate daily production schedules to ensure maximum throughput and minimal downtime on CNC machines.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor operators and general laborers. Manage shift rotations and performance reviews.
• Technical Oversight: Monitor CNC programming and machine setups to ensure accuracy. Troubleshoot minor technical issues and coordinate with maintenance for major repairs.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of cut and edged pieces to ensure they meet specifications (tolerances, edge-bond quality, and finish).
• Waste Reduction: Optimize material yields to reduce board waste and manage departmental inventory.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health and safety protocols, ensuring all guards are in place and PPE is utilized correctly.
