Job summary
The Post-Harvest Quality Personnel is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of agricultural produce after harvest. This role involves inspecting, grading, and monitoring produce to maintain quality standards, implementing proper storage and handling techniques, and preventing post-harvest losses. The personnel coordinates with the production and supply chain teams to manage inventory, oversee packaging and transportation processes, and ensure compliance with food safety and quality regulations. The role is essential in maintaining product integrity from farm to market.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Inspect harvested produce to identify and separate top-tier, market-ready products from damaged or substandard items.
- Grade produce based on size, weight, appearance, maturity, and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in grading in line with company and market specifications
- Reduce post-harvest losses through early detection of defects and spoilage.
- Supervise and execute proper packaging of produce to meet retail and customer standards.
- Ensure correct use of packaging materials to protect product quality during handling and transport.
- Verify labeling accuracy, including product details, dates, batch numbers, and traceability information.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the packaging area in line with food safety requirements.
- Prepare packaged produce for dispatch to customers, distributors, or retail outlets.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate dispatch.
- Confirm order quantities, quality specifications, and delivery schedules prior to dispatch.
- Ensure proper stacking and handling to prevent damage during transportation.
- Enforce post-harvest handling protocols and quality assurance procedures
- Monitor temperature, storage conditions, and handling practices to preserve product quality.
- Maintain accurate records for grading, packaging, and dispatch activities.
- Support compliance with food safety standards and certifications where applicable.
- Certificate or diploma in Agriculture, Post-Harvest Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in post-harvest handling, quality control, or fresh produce operations.
- Experience working with retail or export-quality produce is an advantage.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards is desirable.
- Rotating every 2 weeks
- Morning Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
