Junior Sales Engineer

We are seeking a customer-focused Junior Sales Engineer to drive sales growth by combining technical expertise with strong relationship management. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who enjoys being on-site, engaging with customers, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering practical solutions that add value.
The successful candidate will support market expansion by promoting our product range, providing technical guidance, and building lasting partnerships with developers, contractors, and project teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct daily site visits and generate own sales pipeline (active prospecting)
- Conduct product trials, and product demonstrations to support product adoption and solve technical challenges
- Provide technical support to customers including developers, contractors, and project teams to ensure optimal product performance
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with key clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
- Prepare and deliver technical proposals, product recommendations, and mix optimization solutions
- Conduct training and technical education for customers on product application and best construction practices
- Identify sales opportunities for mortars and trading goods to meet customer requirements and achieve revenue targets
- Assess opportunities for and driving new product introductions (mortars and admixtures) across the Group offering to meet customer requirements and achieve revenue targets
- Identify sales opportunities for Cross Trade where possible to meet customer requirements and achieve revenue targets
- Develop and grow markets for new and existing products through strong customer engagement and technical presentations
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal teams (technical, operations, logistics) to ensure timely product delivery and service support
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on payments to maintain healthy credit control
Minimum requirements:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil or Materials Engineering
- Postgraduate degree will be an added advantage
- At least 1-2 years’ experience in selling construction products and or related materials, key accounts management and business development
- Knowledge of the construction industry especially the built environment
- Knowledge of construction products
- Thorough understanding of the Ghana and West African market
- Strategic orientation
- An understanding of project management principles
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
- Negotiating and influencing skills
- Analytical skills and ability to deliver appropriate solutions
- Language proficiency in English, French will be an added advantage
