Job Summary

The Procurement Officer (Technical) is responsible for managing the procurement process for technical goods and services required by the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of technical specifications, quality standards, and supplier management. The Procurement Officer (Technical) collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs, conducts supplier evaluations, negotiates contracts, and ensures timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal departments to assess technical procurement needs and develop procurement plans and strategies.
  • Identify technical requirements, specifications, and quality standards for goods and services
  • Evaluate suppliers based on factors such as technical capabilities, quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Track orders and monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to delivery schedules and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure adequate stock levels of technical materials and equipment.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to verify technical specifications and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Monitor procurement budgets and expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities and recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare reports and analysis on procurement activities, including budget variance and cost savings.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Candidate should be a Procurement person with an engineering background.
  • 2 – 3 years working experience post-graduation (KNUST)
  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles, with a focus on technical goods and services.
  • Deep understanding of technical specifications, quality standards, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
