The Head of Sales & Distribution is responsible for designing and executing company's sales strategy across all channels and markets, ensuring revenue growth, market coverage, and effective distribution from factory to end-consumer. This role oversees both domestic and international trade and ensures that sales operations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with corporate strategy.

Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Planning

  • Develop annual and quarterly sales plans by channel (GT, MT, Private Label, International)
  • Set sales targets and revenue goals per region and trade channel
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications for promotions, campaigns, and product launches

Trade & Distribution Management

  • Ensure products move efficiently from factory → RDC → depots → retail points
  • Monitor inventory levels at RDCs and depots to prevent stockouts or overstocking
  • Work with Logistics & Procurement to optimize delivery routes and costs

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor channel managers and their teams
  • Develop KPIs and monitor performance of all sales personnel
  • Conduct regular field visits and audits to ensure compliance with company standards

Private Label & International Trade

  • Manage private label client relationships and delivery schedules
  • Oversee international trade, including exports, compliance, pricing, and distributor management

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports to the MD
  • Coordinate with Lydia (Market Intelligence & Trade Execution Monitoring) for trade visibility
  • Analyze sales trends, forecast future demand, and recommend strategic actions


Competencies:

Educational Qualification And Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in FMCG sales or manufacturing distribution, preferably in diapers, baby products, or fast-moving consumer goods
  • Experience managing multi-channel sales operations
  • Knowledge of international trade and export procedures is a plus
