Job summary
<p>The Greenhouse Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing all activities within the greenhouse/net house to ensure optimal vegetable production. The role requires hands-on supervision, technical knowledge of crop production, and the ability to lead workers effectively while maintaining high standards of plant health and productivity.</p>

Key Responsibilities
Greenhouse/Nethouse Operations
- Monitor and supervise all greenhouse/nethouse workers to ensure tasks are carried out efficiently and correctly.
- Oversee daily activities including planting, transplanting, staking, pruning, and harvesting.
- Ensure proper weeding practices are maintained at all times.
- Supervise and guide the application of fertilizers and agrochemicals in accordance with best agricultural practices and safety standards.
Crop Production Management
- Manage the cultivation of vegetables such as: Tomatoes (cherry and beef varieties), Cucumbers, Bell peppers, Cabbage and other vegetables
- Ensure proper spacing, irrigation, and nutrient management for all crops.
- Maintain high productivity and quality standards across all products.
Plant Health & Monitoring
- Proactively monitor crops for irregularities, pest infestations, nutrient deficiencies, and diseases.
- Take immediate action to control or mitigate issues within the greenhouse.
- Report any abnormalities or disease outbreaks promptly to the Farm Manager.
Reporting & Communication
- Report regularly on greenhouse activities, crop performance, and worker productivity.
- Receive, interpret, and implement instructions from the Farm Manager effectively.
- Maintain clear communication between management and greenhouse workers.
Team Supervision
- Assign daily duties to greenhouse workers and ensure completion of tasks.
- Train workers on proper agricultural practices and safe chemical handling.
- Ensure discipline, teamwork, and adherence to farm policies.
Environmental & Resource Management
- Monitor irrigation systems and ensure proper watering schedules.
- Maintain suitable environmental conditions within the greenhouse/nethouse.
- Ensure efficient use of inputs such as water, fertilizers, and chemicals.
Maintenance & Safety
- Ensure greenhouse structures, tools, and equipment are properly maintained.
- Enforce safety procedures, especially when handling chemicals and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the greenhouse environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in greenhouse or nethouse vegetable production.
- Strong practical knowledge of growing vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, and cabbage.
- Experience in supervising agricultural workers.
