Role Description The Dental Hygienist will provide preventive and therapeutic dental care to patients, including performing cleanings, scaling, and root planing, and assisting in the management of periodontal conditions. Responsibilities include conducting oral health assessments, reviewing dental and medical histories, educating patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care, and supporting the dentist during procedures as needed. The role also involves maintaining accurate patient records, adhering to infection control and safety protocols, and contributing to a welcoming and professional patient experience. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Koforidua Clinic in Koforidua.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in dentistry and dental care, with the ability to support diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Competence in hygiene practices, including patient education on oral hygiene and preventive care.
- Experience performing dental prophylaxis, including professional cleanings, scaling, and polishing.
- Knowledge and practical skills in managing periodontal disease and supporting periodontal treatment plans.
- Recognized dental hygiene qualification or relevant professional certification, with eligibility to practice as a Dental Hygienist in Ghana.
- Commitment to infection prevention, sterilization standards, and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered, non-judgmental approach to care.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and manage a consistent full-time schedule on-site.
- Prior experience in a clinical or hospital setting is an advantage.
