POSITION OVERVIEW
Position Title: Agricultural Sales Manager - Seed Background
Location: Ghana - Upcountry (Ashanti Region, Eastern Region, or maize production areas preferred)
Reports To: Africa Business Unit Manager (based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire)
Team Management: Manages 4-person sales team currently operating in Ghana
Employment Structure: Employer of Record (EOR) initially, transitioning to local subsidiary (planned Q1
2026)
Start Date: As soon as possible
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial Strategy & Market Development
• Define and implement commercial strategy for Ghana market (short, medium, and long-term)
• Drive commercial promotion activities including field demonstrations in different agricultural
areas
• Meet with farmers, cooperatives, wholesalers, and retailers to promote, advise, sell, and follow
up on orders
• Organize field demonstrations and promotion activities throughout cropping seasons
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and distributors
Team Leadership & Management
• Manage, coordinate, and motivate 4-person sales team operating across Ghana
• Set clear sales targets and KPIs for team members
• Provide coaching, training, and professional development for team
• Monitor team performance and implement improvement plans
• Manage team operational costs and budget allocation
Market Intelligence & Technical Coordination
• Conduct market research on agricultural seeds products and industry trends in Ghana
• Gather intelligence from market actors, government agencies, and agricultural stakeholders
• Provide technical support and agronomic guidance to clients
• Coordinate closely with Africa BU team in Abidjan and global R&D team
• Interface with local Ghana R&D team for product testing and validation
Sales Performance & Reporting
• Achieve sales volume and value targets for Ghana market
• Improve margin performance and profitability
• Execute budget according to approved plan
• Conduct accurate sales forecasting and demand planning
• Prepare regular reports on market conditions, sales performance, and competitive landscape
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy (MANDATORY)
• Related fields acceptable: Crop Science, Agricultural Economics, Plant Science, Agricultural
Engineering
Professional Experience
• Minimum 4-5 years of proven experience in business development or sales
• Experience in seeds industry strongly preferred
• Demonstrated team management experience (managing 4+ people) - REQUIRED
• Experience in agricultural inputs (fertilizers, crop protection, seeds) is an advantage
• International or cross-functional team experience is a plus

Language & Location Requirements
• Ghanaian national strongly preferred (local market knowledge and relationships critical)
• Fluent in English (working language) - REQUIRED
• Based in or willing to relocate to upcountry Ghana (Ashanti, Eastern, or Northern regions/maize
production areas)
• NOT based in Accra - upcountry location is essential for this role
• Relocation support package available for qualified candidates willing to move
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base Salary:
Negotiable based on experience and qualifications
Annual Performance Bonus:
Performance-based annual bonus aligned with company bonus structure
Based on achievement of sales targets, margin improvement, and team performance
