Agricultural Field Officer
Job summary
The Agricultural Field Officer supports farmers by providing on-site technical guidance, monitoring crop and livestock activities, and promoting best agricultural practices to improve productivity and sustainability. The role involves regular field visits, data collection, farmer training, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of agricultural programs and projects. The Field Officer also assists with reporting, extension services, and the adoption of modern farming techniques.

Requirements and Qualifications:
Education & Technical Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture or a related field or relevant job experience of about 5 years working in the industry.
- Strong understanding of Ghana’s agricultural sector, including crop production, value chains, agro-inputs, and local farming practices.
- Knowledge of sustainable agriculture, climate-smart farming, and modern agricultural technologies is an advantage.
Language & Communication Skills
- Fluency in English is required.
- Proficiency in the following Ghanaian languages Twi, Ewe, Dagbani, Hausa, Mamprusi, Konkomba, Wale, and Gonja
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills for farmer training, community engagement, and stakeholder meetings.
Marketing & Outreach Skills
- Must have knowledge of the current agricultural and market conditions in rural areas.
- Ability to develop and execute marketing strategies for fertilizer, and other farmer support services.
- Experience in community mobilization, farmer sensitization, and market linkage activities.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Have transferrable skills to effectively create markets for other products sold by the company.
Mobility & Work Environment
- Must know how to drive and have a driver's license and Ghana card.
- Willingness to travel frequently to rural communities, farms, and project sites across Ghana.
- Ability to work in field conditions and engage with diverse stakeholders, including farmers, cooperatives, agribusinesses, and government agencies.

- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Able to provide timely feedback
Report Writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic digital tools.
- Good writing skills for reports
- Satisfactory photography and videography skills for record keeping.
