ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE

Our client is a boutique business solutions firm based in Ghana, providing financial support services in accounting, taxation and statutory compliance to a diverse portfolio of businesses. They work closely with clients to strengthen financial operations and support sustainable business performance.
Your role as an Accounting Associate:
You will be responsible for preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining general ledger, preparing tax returns and preparing month-end close procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and reports including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and other documents.
- Collaborate with junior staff to ensure that all projects are completed on time and according to company standards.
- Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all transactions.
- Prepare accurate accounting reports and present financial results as required.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Ensure compliance with government and statutory reporting requirements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Assist the Managing Director in her duties.
- Safeguard company assets, including office equipment and devices, in line with company policies.
Requirements
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or any related field of study.
- A minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a similar role or its equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Sage).
- Working knowledge of the Ghanaian Tax Laws and GAAP.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
