M-FIT Project: Free Soft Skills Training Registration Begins

The M-Fit Project, Match Making of Females in Tech for Jobs, is now accepting applications from females between the ages of 18 and 35 with a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) background. 

Interested young women have up until the 5th of October 2023 to register. The four-week intensive soft skills training begins on the 9th of October and ends on the 3rd of November 2023. 

Within this period, one hundred young women in tech will be taken through specific soft skills training which includes; effective communication skills, personal branding, and time management, among others. At the end of the training, 60 of these young women stand a chance of being placed in permanent tech or tech-enabled jobs by March 2024.

STEM Requirements

The term STEM typically refers to course areas in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Thus, in order to qualify for the program, a candidate should have a course background in any one of the stated umbrella areas. These include but are not limited to Computer science, computer engineering or related engineering, statistics, pure sciences (e.g. biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, actuarial science), Information Technology, Data Science, and related courses.

The M-FIT Project is a collaboration between Jobberman Ghana and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) within the framework of Invest for Jobs to deliver the M-Fit Project – Matching of Females in Tech. 

To bridge the gender gap in the technology sector, this project is designed to empower and equip young women with Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) backgrounds with essential soft skills, making them employable in the tech space.
