The Organization is seeking to employ a Project Coordinator on a specific Project. The Project seeks to increase demand for comprehensive, sustainable and quality HIV & AIDS services for Key Populations (KPs). To strengthen and scale up HIV Self Testing (HIVST) and PrEP Initiation among KPs.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Support management team in planning and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual work plan and reports to support activities on the field.
  • Coordinate, supervise and mentor project team and volunteers by providing technical and administrative support.
  • Conduct frequent supervisory visits to the implementing sites.
  • Work closely with second tier organizations on the project and guide them to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project.
  • Works closely with the technical team to ensure all programme under his/her supervision adhere to organization, donor and international standards.
  • Conduct periodic supervisory visits to the implementing sites.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports on project activities.
  • Organize and attend stakeholders meetings
  • Coordinate and supervise second tier organizations
  • Organize and hold monthly review meetings
  • Conduct routinely supportive supervisory visits
  • Responsible for direct communication of the project between WAAF and the Principal Recipient.
  • Coordinate PrEP and HIVST service delivery activities by IHCC
  • Provide publicity of the project by preparing or supervising the preparation of materials such as info graphs, fact sheets, acquiring of pictures, success stories, short write ups and submitting and or all of these to the communications officer monthly for social media and website updates.
  • Work closely with the M&E team and the finance team to ensure smooth operations and as little of project implementation as possible.
  • Update management at weekly project meetings on progress of the project
  • Present project progress at stakeholder meetings such as the PrEP and HIVST technical committee meetings
  • Ensure timely submission of all reports and intermittent documents requested for by the donor.

Qualification Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Social Work or related field is required. Master’s degree in Public Health will be an added advantage

Years of Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in Project Management. Experience in using Microsoft Office suite especially, word and Excel is also required.


Other Requirements:

  • Be able to effectively coordinate a project with very minimal supervision
  • Be proactive and take initiatives with approval from management to enhance project outcomes
  • Have a strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Have good innovative, proactive and goal oriented skills
  • Be youth friendly and be able to relate with community based groups
  • Have a good knowledge in the use of the computer
  • Pays attention to details  Has a very high sense of responsibility and accuracy
  • A team player  Has a dependable character
  • Be transparent and honest
  • Has the ability to work for long hours and under pressure
  • Experience in working with Key Population is required.
  • Experience in using in Microsoft Office suite especially, word and Excel is also required.
  • Excellent report writing skills will be an added advantage
  • Fluency in English language is required.
