Overview:


My client is a well-known and highly respected organisation that operates in various countries across Africa where they are recognized leaders in providing Komatsu, Metso and AGCO equipment and aftersales support solutions to the Large Mining, Light & Alluvial Mining, Cement & Aggregates, Agriculture & Forestry, Civil & Infrastructure, and the Power & Energy sectors.  


DWR Executive Search has been appointed to find four experienced and suitably qualified Product Support Reps (PSSRs) with a background in Mining Parts & Service Sales for their major mining projects in Tarkwa, Accra and Kumasi. The details are stated below, but please do NOT apply if your career history doesn’t include extensive experience gained in the relevant sector and with the requirements and qualifications specified:


Job overview:

Using your existing in-depth Mining and/or Construction industry knowledge and your unique skillset to inform clients about technical products or services, you will identify business opportunities, generate leads, and foster client relationships to meet or exceed sales goals. You will stay abreast of industry developments as well as develop profitable relationships with current and prospective customers and provide exceptional customer support through attentiveness and extensive product knowledge (especially of Komatsu and other mining & construction equipment products).


Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Generate leads, build relationships and close deals by presenting and demonstrating the value of the Komatsu brand using comparative analysis and presenting data.
  • Technical selling, consultation and support of customers in respect of the company’s products and systems in both the construction and mining markets.
  • Acquisition and development of new customers in Ghana and maintaining the existing client accounts.
  • Assistance with price negotiations as well as the conclusion of sales contracts.
  • Preparation of quotations, client follow-ups, product and stock consulting, and order confirmation to clients.
  • Backorder administration in coordination with the Project Manager including client interaction.
  • Active support of sales staff in the preparation of sales offers in respect of technical and other aspects.
  • Gaining internal knowledge about new products, updates and changes. Internal processing and presentation in the company’s knowledgebase and keeping abreast of changing and/or emerging markets.
  • Research current and developing market trends and formulate strategies to integrate the Komatsu brand including the delivery of product demonstrations to customers
  • Analyses and assessments of market and customer requirements for new products and solutions.
  • Cooperate and collaborate with the Technical Specialists, prepare and submit sales reports to management, and convey customer requirements and feedback
  • Conduct regular machine inspections, including GET and UC.
  • Write machine, UC and GET reports.
  • Upload and maintain all information on online systems as required.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations and statutory obligations, act honestly and with integrity at all times, and respect the values and diversity of others.

Requirements:

As well as possessing a background in the Mining or Construction industry with significant experience gained as a PSSR, to be considered for this role you must satisfy the following criteria:


  • Relevant trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Technical knowledge of the construction and/or mining sectors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding skillset in the interaction with and servicing of customers, as well as the ability to present and negotiate.
  • Excellent English and Twi language skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively multi-task daily activities and meet deadlines and targets.
  • Assertive, confident and clear communicator – via email, phone and face-to-face.
  • Highly proficient in desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat Professional, MS Office, and Internet Explorer, plus an ability to learn new systems.
  • Frequent travel within the region.
  • A valid Ghana driver’s license.
  • First Aid and/or Fire-Fighting certification will be an advantage, but not essential.
  •  Previous Mincom registration isn’t required but is advantageous.

 

Conditions:

The employment package will include an attractive US dollar-based salary that is reflective of the role and the level of experience required, and a generous benefits package that includes:


·       Accommodation (or relocation allowance).

·       Night shift allowance (where applicable) – 5% of base salary.

·       Performance Bonus - 8.30% of base annual salary.

·       Medical Aid for you, your spouse and your children (under 21 years of age).

·       Provident Fund Contribution – 10% of base salary.

·       Monthly laundry allowance (soap, detergent etc).

·       A monthly utilities allowance.

·       10-days on, 5-days off work rotation.

·       24 days annual leave.
