Job Summary

As a Sales Officer in the travel and tour industry, your primary objective is to generate revenue by selling travel packages, tours, and services to individual clients, groups, and corporate customers. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients, understanding their travel needs, and offering them tailored solutions to create memorable travel experiences.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Generation: Actively seek out and pursue sales opportunities through various channels including phone calls, emails, face-to-face meetings, and online platforms. Meet or exceed sales targets set by the company.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with clients by understanding their travel preferences, budget constraints, and special requirements. Provide personalized recommendations and advice to meet their needs
  • Product Knowledge: Have in-depth knowledge of the travel packages, tours, destinations, and services offered by the company. Stay updated on travel industry trends, new attractions, and changes in travel regulations.
  • Booking Management: Assist clients with booking flights, accommodations, transportation, and other travel-related services. Coordinate bookings with suppliers and ensure all arrangements are confirmed and documented.
  • Upselling and Cross-Selling: Identify opportunities to upsell additional services or upgrades to enhance the travel experience and maximize revenue. Cross-sell related products such as travel insurance, visa assistance, and local tours.
  • Follow-Up and After-Sales Support: Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the booking process and after their trip to ensure their satisfaction. Collect feedback, address any issues or complaints, and foster long-term relationships.
  • Networking and Lead Generation: Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand your professional network and generate new leads. Utilize social media and other online platforms to identify and engage potential clients.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify target markets, customer segments, and emerging trends. Use insights to tailor sales strategies and develop new products or packages to meet market demand.
  • Collaboration with Marketing and Operations: Work closely with the marketing team to align sales efforts with marketing campaigns and promotions. Collaborate with operations staff to ensure smooth execution of travel arrangements and excellent customer service.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, HND or a related field.
  • 3 to 4 years experience in travel and tourism industry
  • Must be single or married
  • Fluent in local and foreign language
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Literate in MS Office and typing speed.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in using sales software and CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of foreign languages (especially those commonly spoken in tourist destinations) is an advantage.

Salary Range: GHC2000.00  – GHC 2500.00 gross + Commission

Location: East Legon, Accra.
