Job Summary
We are looking to hire a hard-working, customer-oriented shop assistant to ensure the smooth running of in-store retail operations. The shop assistant’s responsibilities include welcoming customers to our shop, monitoring customer activities to prevent incidents of shoplifting, arranging window displays accordingly, and processing customer refunds. You should also be able to identify customers' needs and recommend suitable shop items that best satisfy their needs.

Cloth management
- Folding clothes
- Sorting clothes
- Tagging clothes for pricing
- Steaming clothing using a garment steamer
- Ironing clothes
- Inspection of clothes before sale
- Putting clothes on display mannequins (weekly)
- Change clothes on mannequins for photoshoots (very often)
- Restock shelves- arrange clothing according to sizes
- Dusting clothe
- Cleaning clothes and removal of stains
Managing Facebook and Instagram Account:
- Handling social media account
- Processing online orders that come through the Instagram, Facebook and website
- Encourage purchases by advertising, telling customers about promotions
- Look for pictures of clothes online.
- Taking pictures for social media
Run errands outside the shop.
- Making bank deposits often. Buy items outside the shop often. Looking for items to buy for the shop. Go and pick up and purchase clothes. Look for services like electrician, laundry service etc.
- Delivery and receiving clothes.
Inventory and Inspection
- Daily and random inspection of the shop and clothes will be done by video calls.
- Random checks and audits of clothes. Counting clothes. To ensure that everything is intact and well kept.
- Sold items must be recorded immediately after purchase that very same day. Receipt of everything in the shop will be kept.
- Taking inventory of merchandise (which will be strictly audited and checked).
Marketing and promotion
- Try and get sales. Market and convince people to buy dresses. Haggle prices. Try to make enough money for the upkeep of the shop. Market social media handles sales and visibility.
Customer service
- Welcoming customers and recommending suitable items.
- Assisting customers in locating desired shop items by walking by them and talking to them.
- Take phone calls and answer messages.
- Be welcoming and very friendly
Retail assistance
- Packaging of clothes after purchasing.
- Serving customers by helping them wear clothes and suggesting options for them.
Inventory
- Record keeping /inventory
- External audit and inventory will taken
- Random checks will be done
- Sales will be recorded
- Cleaning; Mopping, wiping, washing, sweeping and dusting daily
- You will be held liable for anything that gets missing or spoilt due to negligence
NB: This is a 3 months contract job and no educational level is needed.
Pay Rate: GHC 600.00 - GHC 800.00
Location: Only applicants who stay around Madina, Legon and environs.
Days: Tuesday to Saturdays. (off on Sundays and Mondays)
Police background check will be conducted. Background check from previous employer will be conducted
