Farm Manager / Agronomist (Greenhouse & Open Field Production)
Job summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Farm Manager / Agronomist to oversee daily operations of our vegetable production farm, including greenhouse and open-field systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong agronomic expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to implement structured farm processes for consistent, high-quality yield.

Responsibilities:
Crop Production Management
- Plan and execute crop cycles for vegetables (e.g., tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, habanero)
- Oversee nursery operations: seed selection, germination, transplanting
- Develop and manage crop calendars for both greenhouse and open field
Fertigation & Irrigation
- Design and implement fertigation programs using drip irrigation systems
- Monitor EC, pH, and nutrient balance for optimal plant health
- Schedule irrigation based on crop stage, weather, and soil/media conditions
Pest & Disease Management
- Identify pests and diseases early and implement control strategies
- Develop and execute IPM (Integrated Pest Management) programs
- Ensure proper and safe use of agrochemicals
Greenhouse Management
- Monitor and manage greenhouse conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow)
- Optimize plant spacing, pruning, trellising, and yield performance
- Implement best practices for protected cultivation
Open Field Operations
- Oversee land preparation, planting, and harvesting
- Ensure efficient use of inputs (fertilizer, pesticides, water)
- Manage field staff and daily activities
Team Leadership
- Supervise and train farm workers
- Assign daily tasks and monitor performance
- Build and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Record Keeping & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records (inputs, yields, pest control, irrigation schedules)
- Provide weekly and monthly farm performance reports
- Track costs and support productivity improvements
RequirementsEducation & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in greenhouse vegetable farming
- Proven experience with greenhouse production systems
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of fertigation and drip irrigation systems
- Experience with greenhouse crops (especially tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers)
- Ability to diagnose plant health issues (nutrients, pests, diseases)
