Key Responsibilities
- Prepare soil for planting by ploughing, digging, and applying fertilizers
- Plant, irrigate, and harvest crops such as vegetables, fruits, or grains
- Operate and maintain basic farm tools and machinery
- Feed, water, and care for livestock (if applicable)
- Clean and maintain animal housing, barns, and farm areas
- Monitor crops and animals for signs of disease or pests
- Apply pesticides and herbicides safely as directed
- Sort, pack, and load harvested produce for storage or transport
- Repair fences, structures, and farm equipment as needed
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times
Qualifications and Skills
- Basic education (high school level preferred but not always required)
- Previous farm or agricultural experience is an advantage
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, bending, standing for long hours)
- Knowledge of farming practices and equipment is beneficial
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
