Director of Sales (Mali)

Job Summary

The Director of Sales (Mali) is in charge of the field-based sales team for the Core (SHS) business. The job holder is responsible for revenue achievement, after-sales service (SAV), and credit management as well as capability development of his/her team in conjunction with the Training Manager.

Job Description/Requirements

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Achievement of the company’s monthly/quarterly/annual sales revenue plan by product/channel
  • Achieving Portfolio management objectives, both SAV and Credit elements
  • Management of the Core customer Cost to Acquire at or below the agreed target cost
  • Management of credit loans across all products and channels within the agreed parameters
  • Working with the Training Manager, assessing the strengths and gaps in capability of both individuals and teams within the Core field sales function and deploying programmes and initiatives to provide colleagues with the core skills required to perform each role
  • Coach and mentor all direct reports to maximise their effectiveness and ensure delivery of the agreed KPIs/objectives
  • Contributing to assigned projects ensuring that deliverables are achieved in full and on time
  • As a member of the country SMT, contribute to the development of plans and initiatives to improve and grow the business



Qualifications

  • At least 7 years core Sales experience in a dynamic and professional business environment (preferably telecom or FMCG) at least the last 2 of which have been spent leading a large Sales team (national or regional)
  • Demonstrable success in delivering strong business growth in a profitable manner
  • Strong leadership skills, a can-do attitude and a willingness to roll up the sleeves and get fully involved at the heart of the business
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment and still prioritise and deliver the core KPIs
  • Comfortable managing relationships at all levels in the business and externally, a strong and articulate communicator
  • Data driven with strong analytical skills
