Job Description/Requirements

The Transmission Line expertise will conduct tasks including but not limited to:

  • Make necessary inputs and advice to the O&M teams and to TRANSCO CLSG on transmission line matters excluding foundation for towers;
  • Ensure a result-oriented pragmatic response to the challenges faced in overhead line maintenance by implementing state-of-the-art or innovative solutions;
  • Provide analysis of existing practices and make recommendations for improvements;
  • Work hand-in-hand with Project Management and O&M Country teamsto develop and deliver the best possible solutions and manage preparation of technical proposals;
  • Prepare and follow-up regular reports regarding O&M overhead line based on inputs from O&M Country teams and share relevant experience feedback to all parties;
  • Control life cycle cost in order to make better decisions in matter of overhead line components;
  • Keep track of versions, ownerships, settings, factory serial numbers and acceptance tests, manuals, maintenance history, and other asset information;
  • Manage data from site: centralization store to provide a dynamic utilization of asset data and protection for his field of expertise;
  • Perform other functions as may be assigned or delegated by Project Management from time to time during the time of assignment;
  • Execute work assigned to the Transmission Line Management according to the schedule and respecting the standards of safety, quality, hygiene and environmental protection and supervise in this context a team of technicians for the correct execution of the work;
  • Ensure the control of the installations;
  • Perform the first analysis and the resulting interventions in case of anomalies;
  • Disconnect components from the installations if necessary in consultation with the dispatching department;
  • Perform interventions and repairs on all installations, both during the annual shutdown and when working on redundant installations;
  • Communicate safety and work documents to the parties who will perform the interventions on the installation;
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual maintenance work, so that they take place with the greatest efficiency and the highest possible quality;
  • Ensure a guard role which leads you to be regularly called for emergencies outside working hours and on weekends;
  • Contribute actively to the establishment of safe behavior of the teams in charge of the works and to the intrinsic safety of the installations, notably by participating actively in the operational dialogue with the other parties involved in the works and by ensuring the safe behavior of the contractors.
