Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities;

  • Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures

  • Maintain staff job results by hiring, training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to staff as well as disciplining employees and planning, monitoring and appraising job results

  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other relevant persons

  • Ensure availability of merchandise and actively manage stock levels and vendors

  • Assess product selection and formulate pricing policies by studying trends and reviewing competitor merchandising and pricing activity

  • Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operations, financial statements and departmental sales records

  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing and reviewing a quarterly budget, analysing variances and proposing corrective actions

  • Propose business strategies to raise the customer base, expand store traffic and optimise sales and profitability

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations

  • Secure merchandise by monitoring security systems and suggesting and implementing additional security measures as necessary

  • Handle cash at the store, collate daily sales, run other necessary reports and be responsible for general administrative record keeping

  • Deal with issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc)

  • Additional duties as needed



Qualification Required: 

  • Diploma or higher level of education required

  • Previous management experience at other supermarkets or retail outlets with 1-3 years’

  • supervisory experience strongly preferred

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks PoS


Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years working experience

Salary Range: Remuneration will be commensurate with the experience and skill level of the candidate
