Job Summary

As ClassDojo’s first Learning & Development leader, you’ll report to the Head of People and build world-class onboarding, hiring, and management development experiences. We’re looking for a leader with exceptional consulting skills who can diagnose needs, develop creative solutions and get measurable results. Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Learning Strategy: Partner with business leaders to understand 2023 business priorities and assess learning needs. Define and communicate learning roadmap. 
  • World-class programs: The top three priorities for this role are onboarding, hiring skills, and management development. This role will drive V2 of company onboarding and track completion of our 30 and 90-day onboarding goals. This role will develop hiring skills curriculum to amplify our focus on talent density and deepen our interviewer bench. This role will help define what it means to be a manager at ClassDojo and build experiential programing to bring this to life.
  • Culture of Candor: Build excellent relationships at all levels of the business. Facilitate in person 360s for leaders and managers. Role model candor and provide coaching and guidance on specific actions.
  • Remote-First Strategy: We are proud to be a remote-first company and also believe in the importance of having quality IRL time. This role will support our strategy by developing IRL playbooks that drive candor, collaboration and innovation.
  • Systems and Evaluation: Identify the right systems to track and raise awareness of learning opportunities. Leverage data from multiple sources (both quant. and qual.) to evaluate the impact of learning initiatives.


You will be a match if:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in an HRBP, Learning & Development role, or similar.
  • You have a track record of building scalable programs that deliver on key business needs (and are able to speak to measurable impact).
  • You have strong coaching skills and facilitation skills.
  • You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and changing priorities; can quickly reassess needs and take highest leverage action.
  • You have experience partnering with and building solutions for engineering teams.
  • You are a hands-on, scrappy builder, who can go from 0 → 1. You hold the big picture in mind while digging into the details. 
  • You are an excellent problem-solver. You are able to break down complex problems into simple, actionable strategies.
  • You are a strong cross-functional collaborator who is curious and open to feedback.
  • You are comfortable moving quickly and adapting to business needs. You raise the bar for speed and scrappiness.
  • Even if you haven’t managed people before, you are a role model for effective people management. You consistently support and challenge team members to achieve excellent results.
  • You have clear, concise written and verbal communication.
