Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Identify, source, and issue automotive spare parts, tools, and consumables required for repairs and maintenance jobs within the workshop.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date parts catalogue to ensure easy identification and retrieval of components for various vehicle models.
- Manage inventory levels through regular stock checks, forecasting demand based on workshop activity, and initiating timely reorders to avoid shortages.
- Liaise with both local and international suppliers to obtain quality spare parts, negotiate prices, and ensure prompt delivery in line with operational needs.
- Verify incoming parts for accuracy, quality, and compliance with purchase orders before acceptance into inventory.
- Record all parts issued, received, and returned in the system, maintaining complete traceability for audit and reporting purposes.
- Advise workshop technicians, service advisors, and customers on correct part selection, compatibility, and alternative options when needed.
- Ensure proper labelling, storage, and organization of parts to maintain orderliness and quick accessibility within the store.
- Monitor slow-moving or obsolete stock and recommend actions to optimize inventory turnover and reduce losses.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management review, highlighting key metrics such as usage trends, shortages, and supplier performance.
- Coordinate with the finance department on invoice reconciliation, purchase orders, and supplier payment follow-ups.
- Uphold health, safety, and housekeeping standards in the parts store, ensuring compliance with company and industry regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum educational qualification: HND or higher.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in a similar role.
