Job Summary

Strategic and effective partnerships with bilateral and multilateral sector stakeholders (ML) are critical to Teach For All’s core purpose of developing the collective leadership necessary to ensure all children fulfill their potential. We seek a Senior Director of Multilateral Partnerships to increase support by multilateral and bilateral organizations as a key piece of Teach For All’s long-term financial sustainability. Through developing strong partnerships with public sector donors, such as the United Nations, World Bank, USAID, European Commission, United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and other government aid agencies, you will use your strategic thinking, judgment, and relationship building skills to generate funding and growth opportunities for the Teach For All global organization and its network partners worldwide. The Senior Director of Multilateral Partnerships is an individual contributor role reporting to the Chief Government Officer. You will work in close coordination with staff across the Government and Multilateral Affairs team and the Teach For All global organization, as well as with Teach For All network partners around the globe.

Key Responsibilities


Build strategic relationships (30%)

  • Identify strategic relationships with multilateral donors to advance the Teach For All Network’s priorities.
  • Deepen the understanding and appreciation of Teach For All’s core approach and mission among a growing group of diverse multilateral prospects and funders.
  • Cultivate and steward current multilateral and new donors and prospects by representing the global organization and network.


Strategy and execution (50%)

  • Develop and execute strategies and action plans to generate new strategic partnerships with bilateral and multilateral organizations that contribute to the fundraising goals of the organization.
  • Support the implementation and operationalization of multilateral partnerships, involving multiple partners, financial elements, coordination across internal teams among others.
  • Have strong working knowledge of Teach For All’s priorities in order to link the interests and strategic plans of external partners and institutions to our priorities.


Communications (20%)

  • Create value propositions for external donors, prospects and champions that are grounded in our core mission.
  • Conceptualize and draft external and internal communications and other requests, such as letters and email correspondence, through relevant internal channels/systems.


Contribute to overall strategy and direction of Government & Multilateral Affairs team

  • Identify new strategies and pathways for strengthening the GML team’s overall fundraising, global positioning, and advocacy efforts.
  • Monitor bilateral and multilateral trends and initiatives with foresight, to help position Teach For All, network partners and alumni for strategic opportunities.
  • Develop project management guidance and processes to fit the mutual needs of external stakeholders, organizational priorities and network partner needs.


Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of 10 years related professional experience with deep knowledge of the Multilateral field
  • Experience working in educational civil society organizations and in charge of fundraising from multilaterals preferred
  • English fluency required. Fluency in other languages is a plus.
  • Strong external presence and comfortable representing the organization externally
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to cultivate long-term donors, prospects and champions of our work
  • Experience in cultivating successful and complex external relationships and partnerships
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced and entrepreneurial organization as part of a collaborative and committed team
  • Ability to manage a high volume workload at a fast pace with strong attention to detail and a high bar for quality
  • Ability to multitask, manage concurrent timelines, independently prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, dynamic start-up environment
  • Solutions-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset with proactive and empowered approach to problem solving and executing one’s responsibilities
  • Strong critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills
  • Sensitivity to diversity in backgrounds and beliefs (e.g., racial, cultural, socioeconomic, political)
  • Prior international work experience preferred
  • Deeply committed to the mission, vision and values of Teach For All


Compensation

Salary for this position is competitive and dependent on country of hire and prior work experience, and a comprehensive benefits package is included.


Work Authorization

Please note, this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. All candidates must possess permanent local work authorization/permit in order to be considered. This remote work position is open to candidates based in the following locations: Belgium, Canada, Chile, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malawi, South Africa, Spain, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Zambia, Zimbabwe.


Travel and Hours

Some international travel expected to meet and build positive relationships with global partners. Given that we work across different time zones, some non-traditional hours for early or later calls are an expectation of this role.
