Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will lead the accounting and inventory costing functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient ERP utilization, and strict compliance with IFRS and Ghanaian accounting standards. This position requires a technically strong and detail-driven professional capable of managing general ledger activities, reconciliations, cost analyses, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will provide accurate, data-backed insights to guide financial and operational decisions, ensuring the company’s accounting systems reflect true and fair financial performance. To maintain accurate financial records, oversee ERP-based accounting and inventory management, and ensure timely month-end closings and cost reporting. The role is also responsible for analyzing margins, verifying cost accuracy, and strengthening internal controls to support management decisions and financial transparency across all operations.

Job Description/Requirements
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely posting of all financial transactions.
- Lead month-end and year-end closings, ensuring zero unreconciled accounts.
- Prepare and present IFRS-compliant financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
- Perform variance and trend analyses to support management decisions.
- Ensure completeness of documentation for all financial transactions for audit readiness.
- Oversee ERP accounting and inventory modules to ensure data integrity.
- Verify and reconcile inventory records against physical counts periodically.
- Maintain accurate cost per metric tonne (MT) and ensure product costings reflect actual operations.
- Prepare monthly margin analysis and cost variance reports for management.
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to ensure proper valuation of stock and assets.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, applying correct depreciation schedules.
- Support preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor performance against budgets and conduct variance analysis.
- Provide cost insights for pricing decisions and operational optimization.
- Ensure full compliance with Ghanaian tax laws (VAT, PAYE, SSNIT, corporate tax).
- Prepare statutory filings, tax schedules, and audit documentation.
- Provide audit support by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and responding to queries.
- Ensure adherence to financial reporting regulations and company policies.
- Develop and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
- Review accounting processes and recommend automation and efficiency improvements.
- Train and mentor junior accountants to ensure high standards of financial management.
- Zero unreconciled accounts after month-end close.
- Monthly margin and cost variance reports submitted on schedule.
- Cost accuracy rate ≥ 98%.
- Month-end close completed within 7 working days.
- Full compliance with audit timelines and tax submissions.
- ERP data integrity maintained across all accounting and inventory modules.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must be a Chartered Accountant — full certification with ACCA, ICAG, or CIMA is mandatory.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive accounting experience, preferably within agribusiness, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong experience in cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP systems (Factura, SAP Business One, QuickBooks, or similar).
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, Ghanaian tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Proven ability to lead month-end closings and deliver timely, accurate financial reports.
- Exceptional analytical and numerical precision — accuracy in reconciliations, costing, and reporting.
- Advanced Excel and data analytics skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, financial modeling).
- Deep understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties.

- Banking & Payment Systems: Familiar with bank portals, reconciliation tools, and payment workflows.
- Compliance Systems: GRA, SSNIT, and digital audit documentation tools.
