Product Designer & Frontend Developer Intern

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Product Designer & Frontend Developer Intern located in Accra. The intern will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of user-centered products, conducting user research, and employing design thinking strategies. Daily tasks include visual design, UX research, and supporting frontend development efforts to create seamless and intuitive user experiences.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Visual Design and Product Design
• Experience with Design Thinking and conducting User Research
• Skills in UX Research to enhance user experiences
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
• Prior experience or interest in the healthcare, real estate, energy, or employment services sectors is a plus
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Design, Computer Science, or related field

Responsibilities

* Assist in creating wireframes, user flows, and UI designs using Figma.

* Learn and apply Auto Layout, Components, and Variants to create flexible designs.

* Help in prototyping interactive user experiences for web and mobile applications.

* Edit and prepare design assets using Photoshop (basic image editing).

* Participate in design reviews and team brainstorming sessions.

* Conduct basic user research and usability testing to understand user needs.

* Collaborate with developers and learn how UI designs translate into functional websites.

Requirements

* Basic knowledge of UI/UX principles, typography, and color theory.

* ⁠Some knowledge of Figma Variants and Auto Layout

* Familiarity with Figma.

* Basic understanding of Photoshop/Illustrator for asset creation/editing.

* Strong creativity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

* A portfolio (even if small) showcasing design work (academic, personal, or freelance projects).

* Exposure to ReactJS
