MILLER TRAINEE
Job Summary
1. To learn and be able to efficiently operate the flour mill during his/her shift. 2. To assist the Production Supervisor in all areas of flour production and processing to ensure all product specifications are met. 3. To meet all safety, quality and production goals including target yields of the mill.

Job Description/Requirements
Detailed Duties
1- To continuously assist with the supervision of the mill operations.
2- To plan, direct and execute daily shift milling duties for the shift crew to perform and meet business needs.
3- To observe the operations of the break rolls and to constantly ensure that stocks are properly distributed and that roll gaps and brushes are set to maximize grinding efficiency and yields.
4- Adjust and look out for faults or problems which might affect the operations of the mill by conducting regular inspections of equipment and machines.
5- To ensure that all FMGL policies and procedures regarding the operation of the equipment or machines are being followed to ensure product quality specifications and yield targets are met.
6- To liaise with the Assistant Miller and the Health and Safety Officer in coordinating all safety procedures and programs to minimize the incidence of injury and workplace accidents.
7- To coordinate all staff training activities at the Mill by liaising with the Production Supervisor.
8- To monitor the Master Cleaning Schedule at the mill and ensure cleaning is done as and when required.
9- To monitor all air filtration equipment for proper operation and change socks as required.
10- To perform all general mechanical and other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
11- To assume the duties of the Shift Miller in his absence.
Reports
12- To present a report on the challenges encountered or possible problems at the mill.
13- To present a report on any anticipated shortage of production materials.
