Managing Director Ghana

About The Role

We are looking for our next Managing Director for Ghana responsible for overseeing all functional areas across the business (Sourcing, Sustainability, Traceability, Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, People, Compliance) and lead the organization with full market P&L responsibility. You will drive the implementation of the global and regional strategies in collaboration with regional functional leads. As Managing Director you will be responsible for all aspects of Barry Callebaut’s business in Ghana, notably the Manufacturing as well as the LBC operations.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Direct Sourcing and Plant Management
  • Management of manufacturing, sourcing, and sustainability
  • Ensures that client commitments are made and that sourcing, both for bean export and factory targets is met
  • Ensure that sustainability targets & commitments are achieved
  • Ensure commitments towards EUDR regulations and BC sourcing policy requirements are met
• General Management
  • Responsible for country P&L, both for Factory and for LBC
  • Oversee the Day to day operations & administrative processes
• Representation
  • Local representation at certain organizations including CocoBod, CMC
  • Position Barry Callebaut as a trusted and reliable partner for all who care about the promotion and sustainability of the Cocoa Industry in country
• Finance & Capex
  • Ensure cost control activities, monitor revenues and expenditures in assigned areas to ensure sound financial control, ensure effective and optimize financial management with a view to profitability and risk management
  • Participate in setting up the budget, efficient use of budgeted funds, materials, facilities
• Compliance & Legal
  • Oversee and guarantee compliance with internal procedures and enforce ethical business practices
  • Attend relevant meetings with lawyers, and represent companies before legal authorities
• People & Leadership
  • Effectively recruit and support the development of an efficient cross-functional team with the right capabilities Maintain the corporate culture and unite staff, as well as commitment to a common direction
  • Provide leadership & vision as we lead people through transformation and change in our business
    

About You

• Bachelor’s & master's degree in Economics, Administration, or Agriculture
• Fluent English is a must; Fluent in French a plus
• Minimum of 15 years in business management in agriculture / commodity context
• Commodity Experience is a must, cocoa preferred
• Ability to develop, manage & follow up complex and interconnected cross functional projects
• Good knowledge of Management, finance, accounting, etc.
• Interpret performance measurement indicators; identify root causes & follow up with the right solutions
• Strong business & management skills in manufacturing and cocoa sourcing
