Job Description/Requirements



  • Establish and maintain systems and procedures to ensure inter and intra departmental collaboration and co-operation in all management service affairs to ensure fairness and consistency in the treatment of employees.
  • Undertake the periodic review of management policies in relation to the overall Corporate Plan and priorities to ensure optimal harmonization of the management information systems and corporate communication of the Church.


Operational Matters


  • Furnish the Church with professional direction, guidance and control in the effective provision of management information systems and provide a data processing service to selected user departments to facilitate the achievement of corporate short and long-term objectives.
  • Provide and use current and future management information requirements and prepares management information plan to ensure the co-ordinated development and design of systems that meet the Church’s needs.
  • Specify the technical capability and supplier support requirements from and oversee the acquisition of computer hardware and software to ensure that information systems meet identified and scheduled requirements.
  • Ensure that standards and procedures for the capture, processing, storage, transmission, and security of data are developed and implemented such that they conform with legislation; anticipate best practice and remain relevant to the Church’s needs
  • Ensure the provision of comprehensive computer operation and user training and the availability of technical assistance and advice to facilitate independent operation by approved computer users.
  • Provide a data capture, processing, storage and publication service to the standards specified by dependent client departments/units.
  • Comply and publish reports on operations of all Departments of the Church in the form of quarterly and annual Progress Reports and arrange publications of approved written technical material on the Church operations in local and overseas technical journals.
  • Inform and educate Church members, staff and other interested parties and individuals on the operations of the Church and happenings within the Church through house journals and newsletters.
  • Liase between the Church and the public and answer any public queries in consultation with the appropriate Head of Department.
  • Organise official functions and receptions Church’s exhibitions, fairs and special days.
  • Advise Church on all dealings with the press and the public and organize Church’s press coverage of appropriate activities of the Church releases.
  • Carry out Church’s advertisements in the print and electronic media.
  • Advise Central Management Team on public relations programmes.
  • Determine the resource needs of the Corporate Communications Department and prepare the annual budget of the Department and the public relations functions.


Financial Matters

  • Co-ordinate and consolidate Management Information Systems and Corporate Communication budget proposals and when approved ensure their implementation and submit periodic reports explaining the reasons for variances, if any.
  • Ensure the timely and regular preparation of Financial and Administrative reports of the department.
  • Ensure that payment for works and services are approved and in accordance with the Church’s policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction programmes for the department.



Organizational and Personnel Matters

  • Assist Director of Finance & Administration in determining appropriate manpower levels consistent with the organization requirement to ensure effective and efficient operation of the department.
  • Assist Director of Finance & Administration to ensure that adequate training programmes are developed to improve the competence of all staff of the department.
  • Annually appraise his/her subordinates and submit reports to Director of Finance & Administration or appropriate authority for action.
  • Ensure that the Church personnel policy is correctly interpreted, understood and implemented.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by Director of Finance & Administration.


Organizational and Personnel Matters

  • Appraise, annually, his/her immediate subordinates and review annual appraisal reports of employees below his/her immediate subordinates’ level and submit reports to Director of Finance & Administration.
  • Ensure employee observance of staff rules and regulations and ensure that the Church’s Human Resource Management policies are correctly interpreted, understood and implemented.
  • Provide channels of effective communication and machinery for joint consultation on issues affecting the welfare and job environment of the staff of the department and the Church in general and ensure that interpersonal grievance and industrial disputes are promptly and harmoniously resolved.





Maintain contact with all Departmental Heads.

(a)  Education and Work Experience

Minimum:  A recognized University Degree at the Bachelor’s level or equivalent qualification in Mass Communication or Journalism or Management Information Systems with a minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience, two (2) years of which should be in a supervisory grade.  A Post-graduate Diploma in ministry or Theology will be an added advantage.  Should be a member of an appropriate professional body.
