As part of the responsibilities, the Maintenance & Utilities Manager is required to take charge of the maintenance of industrial equipment on the site and ensure the continuity of the provision of water, electricity, steam, compressed air etc, necessary for industrial processes

Job Description/Requirements

Main Objective:

  • Take charge of the maintenance of industrial equipment on the site.
  • Re-establish the mill in a productive and efficient status to keep the value of the asset
  • Propose improvements on the functioning of the equipment.
  • React quickly and efficiently to resolve any possible hardware failure.
  • Set up a corrective and preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Ensuring the link between suppliers and equipment manufacturers.
  • Optimize the performance of industrial equipment.
  • Prepare, support and manage the budget allocated to equipment maintenance
  • Be the guarantor to the general management of the performance of the production tools in compliance with HSE standards.
  • Ensure the continuity of the provision of water, electricity, steam, compressed air etc, necessary for industrial processes


As part of the responsibilities, the Maintenance and Utilities Manager is required to:

  • React in the event of a breakdown and resolve problems quickly
  • Prevent and correct maintenance schedule for the various equipment and materials, while managing the priorities, safety and constraints of production
  • Manage and control all interventions carried out by internal technical services or by external service providers and propose improvements in machine performance in terms of costs and rate of use
  • Analyze data and carry out maintenance reports
  • Prepare and submit calls for tenders for improvement works or for new projects and participate in the selection of service providers.
  • Ensure a technological watch
  • Integrate health and personal safety into all its actions
  • Organize teams, manage them administratively, plan their training needs
  • Participate in the recruitment of new employees, in support of HR
  • Lead, evaluate, develop, motivate, and mobilize teams for effective collaboration
  • Put in place an internal skills development policy and retain the team
  • Establish monthly and annual activity reports

Work location and conditions:

  • Position on an industrial site at KWAE, near KADE, Eastern Region
  • The factory operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • FSSC, RSPO, HALAL, YUM, URSA, QMS ISO 9001 Certifications working environment

Required skills

Technical skills:

  • Plan maintenance operation, assess the duration of the intervention and supervise the conformity of the interventions and the operation of equipment, materials and installations acceptance, tests, adjustments, etc.)
  • Excellent mastery of industrial processes and new technologies in this field.
  • Mastery of techniques for developing maintenance procedures.
  • Good knowledge in the technique of setting up a provisional maintenance schedule
  • Understand and interpret engineering plans (general construction, mechanical and electrical).
  • Knowledge of safety procedures for interventions and systems.
  • Knowledge of CMMS.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years working experience in a similar position preferably in the food industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (electro-mechanics)
  • A Master’s Degree in a similar field would be an added advantage
