Job Description/Requirements







A reputable public service organization invites applications from eligible individuals for the following position: Deputy Director, Licensing and Registration (Head of Region - Western and Northern)





Job Purpose





• To provide technical and operational support in licensing and registration for the achievement of the mandate of the organization





Duties and Responsibilities





• Provides input for the formulation of policies of the organization


• Supervises the vetting of relevant reports and other documentations for the licensing of teachers and service providers


• Supervises the issuance and renewal of license to teachers and service providers


• Ensures the registration and re-registration of licensed teachers and service providers


• Supervises the development of guidelines, procedures and processes in the implementation of programme and activities of the department


• Ensures close collaboration with Officers, departments and other stakeholders in the implementation of programmes and activities of the department


• Supervises the development of annual work plans for the department


• Supervises the preparation of the budgets of the department


• Supervises the preparation of annual and other periodic reports of the department


• Supervises and appraises the performance of subordinate staff in the department





Qualification Required & Experience





• A minimum of a Master's Degree in Education or any related field from an accredited tertiary institution


• A minimum of 8 years post-qualification relevant work experience, 4 years of which must be in a Senior management position in a reputable institution


• Must pass a competitive selection interview

• Excellent leadership, networking, monitoring and management skills


• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills


• Very good negotiating, lobbying and conflict management skills


• Very good capacity to inspire and motivate


• Extensive knowledge and experience in licensing and registration


• Very good knowledge in education and related industries


• Good knowledge of public financial management laws and regulations


• Knowledge of relevant IT applications
