Job Summary
The IT Officer is responsible for managing and supporting the IT infrastructure and systems critical to the operations of a health insurance company. This role involves ensuring the availability, security, and efficiency of IT services that support key functions such as claims processing, customer management, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The IT Officer will provide technical support, manage data security, and collaborate with other departments to implement IT projects that drive operational excellence.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure Management:
- Maintain and oversee the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and workstations, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Perform regular system backups, manage disaster recovery planning, and ensure business continuity in case of IT failures or emergencies.
- Monitor and optimize network performance, ensuring reliable connectivity across all locations and remote access points.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support to employees, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Manage and resolve IT helpdesk requests, minimizing downtime and disruptions to business operations.
- Assist in the setup and configuration of new hardware and software for employees, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
Application and Software Management:
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of health insurance management systems, including claims processing, policy management, and CRM software.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve application- related issues.
- Customize and optimize software applications to meet the specific needs of the health insurance business.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Manage databases containing policyholder information, claims data, and other critical records, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Generate and analyze reports to support decision-making processes, including claims analysis, system performance, and compliance monitoring.
- Ensure the secure storage, backup, and retrieval of all sensitive health insurance data.
Vendor and Asset Management:
- Coordinate with IT vendors for the procurement, installation, and maintenance of hardware and software.
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets, ensuring that all equipment is up-to-date and functioning properly.
- Manage software licenses and renewals, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, infrastructure management, or a similar role, preferably in the healthcare or insurance industry.
- Certifications: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, ITIL) are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing servers, networks, and databases
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- The IT Officer will primarily work in an office environment, with occasional travel to other company locations as needed.
- Must be available to work outside of regular business hours for system maintenance or to address urgent technical issues.
