We are excited to be searching for a proactive and pragmatic Innovation manager with an interest in Value Chain sustainability to join our team in Ghana, and we hope it’s you!


Your role.

The Innovation Manager will directly work the Program Managers as well as program team in the Value Chain Transformation Business Unit that are focusing on interventions to improve documenting learnings, create tools and solutions to help unlock cross-sector challenges related to IDH impact areas. The Innovation Manager works on content and operational tasks around the topic of better jobs, incomes, environment and gender inclusive business models and providing lead on implementing a defined learning agenda.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of tools methodologies & approaches in collaboration with the S&I team
  • Ensure data collection and the generation of insights from a number of technical assistance projects in accordance with a learning framework
  • Work on building of tools to disseminate knowledge and learnings.
  • Providing evidence-based insights to companies in support of programmatic work
  • Innovate new tools and solutions, analysis and insights.
  • Co-organize and facilitate internal learning sessions and external events (conferences, webinars, study tours) to disseminate insights
  • Support the Senior Innovation Manager in developing publications, such as reports, briefs and opinion pieces on key themes around smallholder-inclusive business models


Who you are:

As Innovation manager, you have an ability to process large amounts of information and convert into actionable advice. Besides, you are able to manage a large number of matters efficiently as part of the team. With the expectation to develop high quality content and contribute to written publications for actionable outcome, you understand what these insights means in the daily work of our different target audiences. You contribute the outcome for driving systems change in the domains of better income, better jobs, better environment, and gender equity cross-cutting in the aforementioned impact themes.


What you bring:

  • A relevant Master’s degree; Social Sciences, International Business, International Law, Human Rights;
  • 5-7 years of working experience in a private sector company or consulting experience in the areas of gender, youth empowerment, financial inclusion, digital technology, climate resilience and job creation.
  • Good understanding of (agricultural) supply chain sustainability
  • Relevant knowledge of global frameworks such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Due Diligence
  • Good communicator and ability explain complex issues in a fact-based and simple way
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English. Additional languages are a plus.
  • Knowledge of (agricultural) economics and/or business management (a plus)
  • Affinity to work with data; using evidence and data for decision making.
  • Experience in tackling social issues across supply chains from the private sector perspective;
  • Strong communication capabilities at multiple levels (corporate, academic, public sector)
  • Affinity to work with data; using evidence and data for decision making.


We offer you

A full-time role within an impacting, international organisation – and:

A full-time (40 hours) 1 year contract initially, with the intention to extend.
