Job Summary
Tasked with the responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business and ensures that the entire workforce is productive. Ensures effective and efficient processes across various departments to achieve business goals and objectives. Works with other managers / supervisors / senior staff on strategic planning, and ensuring that all staff are aware of operational best practices and implementing new ideas and technologies.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities
- Overseeing all the various different areas of the business on a daily basis.
- Leads the charge on business development, or business expansion.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, vendors and service providers, to negotiate contracts, resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Developing strategies, policies, and procedures to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and achieve business objectives.
- Develop and manage budgets, financial forecast and cost-control measures to optimize resource allocation and maximize profitability
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and operational benchmarks to assess performance, identify areas of improvement, and drive operational excellence.
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and quality enhancement programs.
- Work with HR team in personality and behavioral development of staff
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, development and accountability within the staff
- Encouraging feedback and collaborations
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and safety regulations in all operational activities
- Identify risks, vulnerabilities and opportunities in operational processes, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Working with HR team on recruiting, interviewing and hiring of staff, for the various department as and when needed
- Analyzing productivity data to optimize staffing and production capacity
- Maintaining working knowledge of the industry, including challenges and opportunities in the sector.
- Lead change management initiatives and organizational transformation efforts to adapt to evolving market conditions and business needs.
- Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, updates and presentations to CEO and Senior Management and stakeholders on operational performance, initiatives and achievements.
- Using past history or records to forecast future behavior of clients and business
- Improving efficiency by working closely with other managers/supervisors and senior staff by leading and directing and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Mentor, coach and develop team members, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
- Representing the business in industry events, and business partnerships, promoting the company’s reputation and interests.
- Designing new processes to improve quality or increase productivity or profitability
- Assess current clients, to determine profit or loss that has been made thus far
- Shipping/Logistics: Set KPIs for shipping/ logistics
- ICUMS
- Number of entries each officer passes monthly
- Weekly and Monthly performance or productivity report
- Any other shipping related applications / assignments
- Accounts: Weekly revenues and expenses
- Other Staff: Develop a system to see staff activities and produce weekly and monthly reports accordingly
- Any other duty as assigned by management
Required Skills
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, procurement, shipping management, transport management, operations management or business administration, from an accredited institution.
- Masters’ degree or MBA is preferred
- Proven experience in operations management with strong understanding of business operations logistics, fleet management and supply chain management.
- 6 years’ work and industry experience
- Experience in fleet management and logistics preferred
